About
Taveena Kum is the Founder and Executive Director of Fierce N Fit Special Needs Charitable Organization. A former elite amateur boxer and Olympic Trials competitor selected to represent Guyana, she has spent over 23 years in the field of special education, combining her passion for boxing with her commitment to supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.

Connection to Fierce N Fit
Fierce N Fit was built from Taveena’s vision to create a space where individuals of all abilities feel included, supported, and empowered. Inspired by her best friend who has Down syndrome, this community has become a central part of her life.

Why It Matters
Through her work in special education, Taveena has seen firsthand the barriers individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities face in accessing meaningful programs and navigating everyday life. Fierce N Fit is her way of changing that. This work gives her purpose and continues to be a source of genuine happiness.

Beyond the Gala
Taveena has been volunteering and boxing her entire life. She continues to advocate for inclusion, build programming, and create opportunities that empower individuals with special needs to thrive.
